Duale's bodyguard shot in Eastleigh

– A CID officer attached to Aden Duale as a bodyguard was shot by gangsters on Monday evening in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area
– He sustained injuries on the leg and his gun was stolen
A Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officer, attached to leader of Majority in the National Assembly Aden Duale as a bodyguard was shot by gangsters on Monday July 18, 2016 in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area
The officer identified as Abdi Maalim in a Standard report sustained injuries on his leg.
Duale confirmed the incident, saying that his bodyguard had been grazed in the leg by a bullet and was in stable condition.
Maalim had been sent to the area, when he was ambushed by the thugs along General Waruinge Road at about 6pm.
They grabbed his gun, injuring him in the process, and taking off towards Kiwanja slums near Moi Air Base.
Security agents launched a hunt for the armed men until late.
Military officers at Moi Air Base were on high alert with guard dogs roaming the compound, as the gunmen were still at large.
