Mogadishu (RBC) Somalia parliament speaker’s allied lawmakers have opposed the decision issued yesterday by the cabinet that orders the postponement of the national election in the country to 2012.
The lawmakers met yesterday in the speaker’s home in Mogadishu said the parliament reverse its previous decision about the national that was scheduled to hold in upcoming August when the TFG mandate expires.
“The parliament members had already passed the extension of ots term to three year as well as holding national election on August so that decision is unchangeable”, MP Awad Ashara told reporters.
The lawmakers also rebuffed that the speaker rejected previously proposed meeting between the cabinet and the parliament committees saying the meeting was not legal.
The argument between Somalia government institutions seems to be high as the rival leaders issue daily press releases against each other.
On Saturday the prime minister sent a letter to the speaker proposing consultation meeting between the cabinet and the parliament but failed after the speaker Sharif Hassan rejected it.
