M5 closed at Halesowen after fatal lorry crash

M5 crash scene Engineers will examine a crack in the overhead bridge before the motorway is reopened
The M5 has been closed following a fatal crash involving a lorry.
The lorry was travelling northbound when it hit a bridge and caught fire at about 02:00 BST close to junction 3, for Halesowen.
The motorway has been closed between junction 3 and junction 4 for Bromsgrove. Carters Lane, on the bridge above the carriageway, has also shut.
The lorry driver died at the scene and the motorway is not expected to reopen until Tuesday afternoon.
Bridge damage The Highways Agency said a crack had developed in the overhead bridge.
Structural engineers are waiting for police to finish their investigation before assessing the full extent of the damage.
Keith Mann, operations managers for the Highways Agency, said diversions had been put in place.
He said he expected the crash would not cause significant delays in the area as there was less traffic on the roads because it was the school holidays.
Anyone with information about the crash has been asked to contact Central Motorways Policing Group.
