LAS ANOD (Sh. M. Network) – An elders from Sool region in northern Somalia on Sunday accused the self-styled republic of Somaliland of destabilizing the tranquility and security in Las Anod town, the regional capital of Sool region.
Suldan Mohamed Abdullahi, one of the prominent elders in the disputed Sool region, said the Somaliland administration is playing a negative role in the region.
Abdullahi indicated Somaliland accustomed to bother the civilian people in Las Anod town, using individuals hailing from the region.
He also charged Somali government officials from the region not taking care of what is going on there.
In the last few months, Las Anod town has seen a number of assassinations and explosions against Somaliland officials, soldiers and peace activists there, an apparent rampant insecurity that created fear in the community dwelling the town and the region in general.
