Somalia: Elders Urge Al Shabaab to Join to Reconciliation Process

Mogadishu — Ahmed Diriye Ali, the spokesman of Hawiye traditional elders, on Saturday urged Al shabaab top officials to be part in Somalia reconciliation process.
In an exclusive interview with Shabelle Media Network, Ali said that it is needed to accept reconciliation which Somali government declared saying it will held in Somalia.
He said that it is time Al shabaab help bring peace and tranquility back to weary torn horn Africa nation.
He pointed out that Al shabaab has killed what could kill and spelled out that killing, displacing civilians and intimidating must all be stopped.
As the mandate of Somali interim federal government is running out with expiring in August, TFG on Thursday proclaimed that it host Somali National Reconciliation in June.
After unusual lengthy meeting in the Somali capital Mogadishu, the cabinet announced that a reconciliation meeting for Somalis will be held in Mogadishu with the help of United Nations and international community on June 11 to 16.
