Pony pushed into Hampshire lake dies

A pony has died after it was pushed into a Hampshire lake by a group of about 12 people.
A member of the public who tried to rescue the animal from Hawley Lake on Saturday afternoon was taken to hospital after the animal kicked out.
The pony, which was in its trap, became submerged and died.
Police also think an attempt was made to push a second pony into the water. Officers and the RSPCA are trying to establish a motive behind the incident.
The group of people were seen driving the second pony and its trap away along Minley Road in the direction of Yateley.
The injured man was taken to Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey for treatment.
Police appealed to people in the area at the time, which included dog walkers and fishermen, to come forward.
