SOMALIA: Government approves opening roads to Bakaro market

Mogadishu (RBC) Officials of Somalia transitional government on Monday confirmed that the government is ready to open a way to the biggest market in the city of Bakaro.
Gen Abdulkarim Yusuf Dhagabadan, The commanding officer of Somalia military forces announced the Dabka main street which lies between KM-4 junction and Bakaro market is free to use from yesterday on Monday.
“On behalf of the government and with the order of the president Sheikh Sharif and prime minister Mohamed Abdulahi, I call the business people and the ordinary citizens can use the Dabka street”, Gen Abdulkarim Dhegabadan said after ameeting with Benadir  businessmen.
The military officials said the only road to Bakaro market will be open every day between 7:00. am. -5:00 pm.  
Benadir business community spokesman Ali Ugas welcomed the call from the government as he mentioned that businessmen will request from al Shabab fighters to open access to the market.
The roads to Bakaro market closed since February after heavy fighting between the government forces and Shabab rebels occurred Wershadaha road which was the biggest road to the market.
The approval from the government came after negotiations to reopen the roads of the market made by the business men but what is not clear is the al Shabab rebels who manage most of the capital will allow the access of the market.
