Detectives have issued a warning to drug users after the deaths of two men in Ayrshire which they believe could be linked to ecstasy.
The men are not thought to be connected to each other and the deaths are believed to have happened in separate areas.Further tests are being carried out on the victims.
The force will be speaking to health workers, social work and alcohol and drug action teams to alert drug users.
Det Sgt William McDicken, of Strathclyde Police, said: "Our inquiries into both men's deaths are at a very early stage.
"While we cannot say for sure that they are both as a result of taking ecstasy, we have to take this matter extremely seriously and do everything in our power to make sure no-one else is affected.
"I would therefore like to reinforce the message that taking any type of illegal drugs is inherently dangerous. I would also ask anyone who has any information on drug dealing in the Strathclyde Police force area to contact their local police office or call Crimestoppers"
