Man dead and police officer hurt in Tottenham shooting

A man has been shot dead and a police officer injured in north London, Scotland Yard said.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has been called in to investigate the shooting at 18:15 BST.
The IPCC said it understood the dead man had been shot by police in Ferry Lane, Tottenham Hale.
It is thought the officer, who was taken to hospital, was shot first but this is not known for certain, an IPCC spokesman said.
He said the incident had been referred to the IPCC by the Metropolitan Police's professional standards department and independent investigators had been sent to the scene.
'Heard four shots'
The Metropolitan Police would not confirm if the dead man had been shot by a police officer.
A Scotland Yard spokesman added: "One male was pronounced dead at the scene and one officer was taken to hospital."
Local resident David Akinsanya arrived at the scene moments after the incident.
He said he was told by a witness that a police officer had shouted to the man to stop "a couple of times", but the man had not heeded the warning.
The witness, who lives next to the spot where it happened, then heard four shots, Mr Akinsanya said.
"There are lots of helicopters and sirens all over the place," he added.
"There was also a surveillance van on the corner."
Area taped off
A waitress at the Ferry Boat Inn, who did not wish to be identified, said the incident had happened a few minutes' walk from Tottenham Hale Tube station.
She said: "One man came in and he said that he saw police trying to pull some clothes off a man who was bleeding."
Another worker said there were "lots of cars" around the scene.
Police have taped off a large area, leaving some people unable to get home.
One of these was Michalis Chatziantouiou, 24, of Emily Bowes Court, who said he entered a supermarket near Tottenham Hale station at about 18:00 BST.
When he left the shop 20 minutes later the whole area was taped off, he said.
"We can't go home - police said they are taping the area off for five hours," he said.
